Mr. Britt joined GéoMégA Resources Inc. in 2009. His involvement in the successful completion of the IPO of the Company earned him the respect of shareholders and Board members.
From May 2005 to June 2010, Mr. Britt was an accounting and securities consultant for listed junior mining companies. He was, from January 2007 to August 2009, CFO for Kinbauri Gold Corp, acquired by Orvana Minerals in August 2009. From January 2000 to May 2005, Mr. Britt practiced auditing and corporate finance mainly with public companies for Deloitte.
Mr. Britt holds a bachelor’s degree in administration from Haute Études Commerciales in Québec. He is a member of the Ordre des Comptables Agréés du Québec
Mr. Cayer, a geologist, has over 13 years of experience in mineral exploration on several advanced projects, most notably the Éléonor gold deposit. Mr. Cayer joined GéoMégA in 2011 as chief geologist, which was the position he held until he was nominated as vp exploration. Mr. Cayer is currently working as the qualified person on the Montviel project ensuring that all exploration activities are conducted under 43-101 guidelines.
Prior to joining GéoMégA, Mr. Cayer was Senior Project Geologist at Virginia Mines, which he joined in 2002. In 2003, he discovered the Eleonore gold deposit in James Bay, which he worked to develop until it was sold to Goldcorp. In 2005, Mr. Cayer and the Virginia Mines team received the Prospectors and Developers association of Canada’s Bill Denis award, which is awarded to the prospector of the year in Canada, for the Eleonore discovery.
Mr. Cayer started his career at Soquem in 1998 where he was searching for rare earth and base metal ore bodies in Quebec’s Côte Nord region.
He has a bachelor’s degree in geology and a master’s degree in mineral resources from UQAM. The subject of his Master’s dissertation was the characterization of an iron oxide and rare earth ore body.
Erik H. Martin
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Martin, CPA, CMA, has over 19 years of financial disclosure and management experience with a focus on publicly listed resource companies.
Mr. Martin is responsible for financial reporting. He replaces the position previously held on an interim basis by Mr. Mario Spino. Mr. Spino will continue to act as Director of the Company.
Mr. Martin is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated from the University of Quebec at Rimouski with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and received his Certified Management Accountant (CMA) accreditation in 1996.
Mr. Gauthier joined Geomega in January 2012 to ensure that the company and its projects are developed in a sustainable manner. He coordinates permit applications, environmental studies and community relations. He is also responsible for the development, integration and monitoring of a sustainable development policy.
Before joining Geomega’s team, Mr. Gauthier was a sustainable development consultant for mineral exploration companies in Abitibi, including Cartier Resources and Osisko Mining Corporation. From 2007 to 2010, he was a Land Use planner for the Town of Rouyn-Noranda. He also worked as project manager for the Land Reclamation of an exploration site in northern Russia.
Mr. Gauthier holds a BA in Geography and a Certificate in Environmental Science from the Université du Québec à Montréal. Before going to university, Mr. Gauthier also obtained a Technical College degree in Forest Management.
